About Me:

I’m a high school student and the founder of Move Against Parkinson’s. I was introduced to the Parkinson’s community through my grandfather, who participated in Rock Steady Boxing. Through him, I learned how important movement and community can be for people living with Parkinson’s. Today, I volunteer at a Rock Steady Boxing gym, where I have seen first-hand the power of movement and connection.

Where the Idea Began

At Rock Steady I noticed shoes aren’t allowed on the mats. Most participants were either in regular socks or barefoot during class. That stood out to me, and sparked an idea to create something simple, something useful. Something that could help me give back and raise awareness for a cause I was passionate about.

The Purpose

The Fight Back grip socks are part of a broader effort of Move Against Parkinson's to support the Parkinson’s community through awareness, education, and fundraising. Alongside the socks, the goal is to help share information about movement-based programs, community resources, and organizations that support people living with Parkinson’s. The socks are intended for use in a variety of everyday settings—whether at home, in community spaces, or anywhere shoes aren’t typically worn. Whether it's boxing, dancing or just walking, movement empowers those living with the condition, as well as the families, friends, and caregivers who provide vital strength and love. This is my step forward to ensure that every member of our community feels supported.
